SZABMU MDCAT 2024 Question Papers are uploaded on Official Website
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) to upload the question papers for the MDCAT 2024 on its website. This decision came after a petition was filed by some students, led by Ammar Naeem, who appeared in the test and raised concerns about the transparency of the result announcement.
The court ruled that SZABMU must upload all versions of the MDCAT question papers so that students can compare them with the answer keys. The university can still go ahead and release the final results, but only after making the question papers available, ensuring students can review and verify the transparency of the process.
The petitioners argued that SZABMU did not follow the proper guidelines set by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), which require a fair and transparent admission process. They highlighted that other provinces had already uploaded their question papers and answer keys on the same day the test was held, but SZABMU was not doing the same.
The petition also mentioned that there were around 26-27 questions in the test that were not part of the syllabus, and several answers provided in the key were incorrect. Out of nearly 24,000 students who took the test, about 3,000 filed complaints regarding these issues. SZABMU later admitted that six questions were indeed out of syllabus and granted grace marks for them. However, the students argued that this decision was made unilaterally and lacked transparency.
In summary, the court’s order aims to ensure a fair and transparent process for all students by allowing them to cross-check their answers before the final results are declared.
